NPFL: Wikki Tourists beat Nasarawa United 2-0

Hosts Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi on Sunday beat Nasarawa United of Lafia 2-0 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in a 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fixture.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Wikki Tourists FC moved to 12 points from eight games following the victory from the Match Day 9 fixture.
The first goal of the match was scored in the 33rd minutes by Abubakar Aliyu, while the second goal was scored by Anas Yusuf.
The Nasarawa United team made spirited efforts to score as they created numerous chances, but they could not convert them into goals because Wikki Tourists defended very well.
Wikki Tourists’ coach Abdullahi Adamu later said God was responsible for their victory, and he was proud of his players’ performance.
”God is great. We appreciate him for giving us this opportunity to secure the maximum points from the match. The players are doing well and we are proud of them. We can all see the type of game and zeal they put into this match,” he said.
Meanwhile, coach Bala Nikyu of Nasarawa United on his part declined to comment on the match.
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi was in the stadium to watch the match and encourage the home team.
The Bauchi governor promised the Wikki Tourists’ players a gift of N100,000 each for securing the three points at stake in the match.
