Nigeria lucky to have Buhari as president: Emir of Daura

The Emir of Daura, Umar Faruk Umar, Friday said Nigeria is lucky to have President Muhammadu Buhari as its leader at this time.
The monarch made this statement while hosting Mr Buhari in his palace at Daura, Katsina State on Friday.
He said things would have been more difficult for the country if Mr Buhari is not the president.
“Nigeria is lucky to have you at this time.
I am not saying it to please you, but if you had not been in power it would have been very difficult,” Mr Faruk said.
“I doubt if we will be here today.”
The monarch further said Mr Buhari being the president as brought much honour to the Daura Emirate.
“Today is not for speeches but for appreciation.
We have been blessed so much as a community because you are the leader of the country.
You have brought honour to our domain,” Mr Faruk said.
Unlike Mr Faruk, the emir Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, last week Thursday charged President Muhammadu Buhari to work to alleviate the sufferings of poor Nigerians.
Lamenting surging insecurity and economic hardship in the country, the emir charged Mr Buhari to look into the suffering of the masses.
“We are calling on the president to look into various sectors of life and find ways of ameliorating the sufferings and hardships faced by the masses especially in the areas of security, economy, especially food and commodities,” Mr Bayero said.
