Mark D Basketball: First Bank team records second win

On Monday, the First Bank female basketball team of Lagos recorded their second win at the ongoing Mark D Basketball female Championship in Abuja.
In the third match played at the indoor hall package B of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja, First Bank Babes defeated Kada Angels of Kaduna 33–30 in their second game.
First Bank won the first quarter 5–8; 17–14 in the second quarter; 28–18 in the third quarter, and the last quarter, 33–30.
Mac-Dangosu Theresa of First Bank scored the higher points of 10 for her team, while Gift Uchenna scored the highest of 11 points for Kada Angels.
The championship is organised in collaboration with the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) and the Ministry of Sports and Youths Development.
Latif Erinfolami, the First Bank team coach, said his girls played a good game.
In another match played, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Babes beat Taraba Hurricane Babes 60-17.
Hot Coal Sizzlers of Abuja beat Novena Queens of Owerri 40-25.
Sixteen teams are participating in the championship, including Air Warrior of Abuja, First Bank, Delta Force, Sunshine Angels of Akure Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Novena Queens Owerri, Kada Angels, Benue Princess and Plateau Rocks.
Others are Mountain of Fire (MFM), FCT Rocks, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Queens, Taraba Hurricanes, Nasarawa Amazons, Hot Coal Sizzlers of Abuja and Bayelsa Queens.
The championship, which started on Saturday, will end on January 22.
