Edo’s police command on Wednesday says it has arrested a middle-aged man for bathing his wife and four-year-old son with acid.

The command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Princewill Osaigbovo, confirmed the suspect’s arrest to journalists in Benin.

However, the police refused to disclose the identity of the suspect.

Mr. Osaigbovo said following petitions to the Edo Commissioner of Police, Phillip Ogbadu, detectives swung into action and arrested the suspect in his hideout at Ehor in Uhumwonde Local Government Area.

He added that the suspect would be charged to court once an investigation was concluded.
