Lagos govt seals Havillah Event Centre over fuel souvenir saga

The Lagos government is investigating an incident involving the sharing of petrol as souvenir at the installation ceremony of the Erelu Okin, Pearl Chidinma Ogbolu.
Senior Special Assistant to the state governor on New Media, Jubri Gawat, made the announcement through his official Twitter account.
“Lagos State Government through the Lagos Safety Commission and the Rapid Response Squad has sealed Havillah Event Centre, Oniru, for Contravening Public Safety Rules (Fuel Souvenir) as Lagos CP orders the arrest of culprits involved,” he tweeted.
The sealing of the event centre comes barely 24 hours after the video of kegs of fuel was shared as a souvenir at the installation ceremony of Ms Ogbulu as Erelu Okin of Orile Kemta.
Earlier, Ms Ogbulu had apologised following the outrage and backlash from Nigerians over the filmed incident that has now gone viral on social media.
“I want to use this medium to apologise for the momentarily indiscretion of bringing fuel Souverniers into the hall.
“My intent was just to show appreciation to my guests for turning up at my event at these hard times,” Ms Ogbolu wrote in an Instagram post on March 5.
