Kano: Four-year-old boy found dead in well

A four-year-old boy has been found dead in a well at Dawanau Ilesha Nawawu in Dawakin Tofa local government area.
Kano’s fire service disclosed this on Tuesday.
Saminu Abdullahi, the spokesman for the firefighters, explained that the boy was brought out of the well dead on Monday evening.
“We received a distress call at about 04.55 p.m. from one Aminu Sani-Sha’aibu and sent our rescue team to the scene at about 05:20 p.m.,’’ Mr Abdullahi said.
He added that the corpse had been handed over to the ward head of Ilesha Nawawu, Musa Habibu.
Mr Abdullahi also mentioned that the incident was being investigated and urged the public to contact the fire service immediately there was an emergency.
Several cases of youngsters drowning have been recorded in Kano, including the capsizing of a boat ferrying students, leaving 20 dead and 15 missing.
