Governor Yusuf swears in new SSG

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano state, on Monday, swore in Umar Farouk-Ibrahim as the new secretary to the state government (SSG) in a low-key ceremony at the governor’s office.
The event was officiated by the attorney general and commissioner for justice, Haruna Isa-Dederi.
Mr Ibrahim’s appointment comes after his predecessor, Abdullahi Baffa-Bichi, was relieved of his duties, along with the chief of staff and five other commissioners.
According to the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, Mr Ibrahim was chosen for his extensive experience and expertise, which would play a crucial role in advancing the administration’s development agenda.
Mr Yusuf expressed confidence that Mr Ibrahim’s appointment would significantly contribute to realising his administration’s vision for the state.
He emphasised the importance of experienced leadership in steering the state toward sustained development and growth.
