Ganduje sacks Kano civil servants for fraud

Governor Abdillahi Ganduje’s administration has dismissed four civil servants at the Bureau for Land Management for illegally selling public landed properties.
This is contained in a statement signed by Commissioner for information, Muhammad Garba, on Tuesday.
It alleged that the civil servants forged documents, issued false cadastral information and falsified official records.
According to Mr Garba, the dismissed workers are senior survey assistant on Salary GL 06, Abdulmuminu Usman-Magami, senior land officer on Salary GL 10, Abdullahi Idris, press attendant, Audu Aliyu, on Salary GL 05, and assistant chief land officer on Salary GL 13, Baba Audu.
The commissioner explained that the officials were dismissed based on the recommendations of an investigative committee set up by the government, following the complaints levelled against them.
He added that their dismissal was in line with the Civil Service Rule No.04406, adding that the measure was to serve as deterrent to others.
The statement further warned that the government would not condone any misconduct from any civil servant.
“All government employees are expected to carry out their responsibilities honestly, diligently, effectively and in accordance with the civil service rules and regulations,” it added.
