Four people on Okada killed in road crash

Four persons riding on a motorcycle have been killed in a road crash involving a commercial vehicle in Bauchi, says the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The FRSC sector commander, Yusuf Abdullahi, on Monday said seven others were seriously injured in the crash.
“Eleven people were involved in the fatal road crash, which included nine males, one female, and a female child. Four people who were on the motorcycle ran into the Golf 3 car and lost their lives instantly. They were all males,” explained Mr Abdullahi. “Seven others sustained various degrees of injuries, and they were five males, one female, and a female child.”
According to Mr Abdullahi, the accident which happened around 6:30 p.m. in Duhuwar Kura on Azare-Zaki road in Bauchi on Sunday involved a Golf 3 car with number plate KTG268YG and a Bajaj motorcycle (Okada).
The sector commander added that it took his personnel about seven minutes to arrive and clear the crash site, attributing the incident to speed violation and overloading.
The FRSC commander, who gave the name of the driver of the car as Abubakar Haruna, said the injured persons were taken to Federal Medical Centre, Azare.
He disclosed that the remains of the deceased were also deposited in the morgue of the same hospital for identification.
He, however, advised motorists always to be conscious of traffic rules and regulations.
