Ex-APGA chieftain gets APC membership card

A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance has been given a membership card of the All Progressives Congress following his defection to the ruling party.
Sani Shinkafi, APGA’s former national secretary, and his wife Hindatu received the APC membership cards at the Abdullahi Shamba 004, polling unit Shinkafi South Ward, of Shinkafi local government area of Zamfara.
He was registered by Ibrahim Masari, chairman of the Registration and Revalidation Exercise Committee. Speaking after receiving his membership card, Mr Shinkafi expressed gratitude to Governor Bello Matawalle for inviting him to join the APC.
“This is a historic day to me, after 19 years in APGA. I join Matawalle to APC for his mission to promote peace and stability,” said Mr Shinkafi. “We are not in APC for materialistic or position gains.”
He called on the party stakeholders in Zamfara to embrace unity, peace, and stability.
“We should all come together and support Governor Matawalle to contribute to the development of our state,” he added.
Mr Masari commended APC stakeholders in the state for their support and cooperation.
Mr Shinkafi, on June 29, defected to the APC.
