Emirs of Kano, Bichi’s mother dies in Egpyt

Maryam Ado-Bayero, the mother of the emirs of Kano and Bichi in Kano, has died at the age of 80 years after a protracted illness.
Yusuf Nabahani, the Madakin Kano, confirmed the death in a statement on Saturday in Kano.
He stated that the deceased, who was the eldest surviving widow of the late Ado Bayero, died early Saturday in a hospital in Cairo, Egypt.
Mr Nabahani, who is also the chairman, Kano emirate kingmakers, prayed to God to grant her mercy and abode in Aljannah Firdaus and urged the public to pray for the deceased.
He added that the funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
The deceased was a princess and elder sister to the present Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.
