EFCC arrests two herbalists, 24 others for internet fraud in Ibadan

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Command in Oyo, has arrested 26 people, including two herbalists for alleged cybercrime.
Wilson Uwujaren, the commission’s spokesperson made the disclosure in a statement he signed and made available to journalists in Ibadan on Friday.
Mr Uwujaren said the two self-acclaimed herbalists were arrested on Friday at Soka area of Ibadan over their alleged involvement in offences bordering on internet fraud.
He said they were arrested alongside 24 others, four of whom claimed to be students of Lead City University.
Mr Uwujaren said the suspects were arrested following verified intelligence on their alleged involvement in cyber fraud, with 22 of them already indicted by ongoing investigation.
Items recovered from them were listed as cars, mobile phones, television sets, Playstation 5, laptops, among others.
