Dozens arrested in major anti-drug operation in Italy

Italian police have arrested dozens of people in a major operation against drug trafficking in the southern city of Palermo, the news agency ANSA reported on Tuesday.
Warrants were issued against 58 suspects accused of crimes in relation to drug production and dealing charges, ANSA reported.
The operation targeted an organisation accused of managing drug dealing in the Sperone neighbourhood of the Sicilian city.
According to authorities, the group dealt with drugs, ranging from cocaine to methamphetamine and marijuana.
It is done near the neighbourhood’s school, turning an estimated profit of about 1.5 million euros ($1.72 million) per year, ANSA said.
