Aubameyang to join Barcelona on free transfer

Out of favor Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is reportedly set to join Barcelona at deadline day on free transfer.
Aubameyang despite having 18-months left on his contract with the North London side will join the Spanish giant for free.
Arsenal have since last weekend been in talks with Barcelona over a potential loan deal for the 32-year-old.
Aubameyang, on Monday, flew to Barcelona on Deadline Day to help broker a loan deal, but the deal suffered setbacks over wages related disagreement.
However, in a dramatic turn of events, ESPN in a tweet reported that “Barcelona will sign Aubameyang from Arsenal on Free transfer.”
The striker has not played for the club since a disciplinary breach in December.
He was in December stripped of the Arsenal captaincy for failing to show commitment and passion for the club.
Giving reason for stripping Aubameyang of the club’s captaincy, the head coach said he expects “any person in this football club, that is representing this badge.”
He added that the player must be passionate and willing to give “absolutely 100%, that he puts the club in front of any personal interests and is able to do anything to fulfil the badge we have on the chest.”
Aubameyang’s departure will leave Arsenal with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah as its recognised forwards for the rest of the season.
