Anambra ripe for APC takeover: Gov. Buni

Anambra is ripe for the All Progressives Congress to take over the rein of power, says its chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe.
“Anambra is ripe for us, and we will work together for victory,” said Mr Buni.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance is currently in power in Anambra, with Willie Obiano as the governor.
Mr Buni spoke to State House correspondents after President Muhammadu Buhari formally received the APC governorship candidate in the state, Andy Ubah.
“So, that tells you how ready we are and how APC is growing and waxing stronger in Anambra state, and that’s how we are sure of victory come November 2021,” he added, referring to Stella Oduah’s defection to the party.
Mr Buhari had also revealed his desire for APC to take over power in Anambra.
The APC chairman added that efforts were in progress to unite aggrieved members of the party.
“We have a committee to that effect that is working hard to bring all our members together in Anambra for us to have one united family to face the election, and we are sure of victory,” said Mr Buni. “Many people are crossing over to APC since after our gubernatorial primaries, and that attests to Mr President’s performance, especially when you see the infrastructure he is putting in place across the country, and especially in the South-East.”
Governor Hope Uzodinma, chairman of the Campaign Council, also stated that Mr Buhari’s influence would result in electoral victory for Anambra APC.
“Your name opens doors for us, and lots of people come into our party today because of it,” Mr Uzodimma told the president. “By the grace of God, we will be successful.”
